Vending system for pet items and method

I don't know about this one. There are lots of variant independent claims. Can someone thread their way between them? Certainly some of them are easy to avoid--like not doing a pet related structure. But some of the others are a bit tougher. Also this patent shows the problems of internet references; try to find them and see if, in the ones you find, you see anything remotely relevant. My guess would be that anyone this patent holder sues will simply dig up prior art or find witnesses that will swear that such vending was being done at least a year before the application. It's probably not that nobody else thought of vending pet items but that they didn't even remotely consider it patentable.
