Probably a worthless patent although the patent might keep the timid from competing. But would it be a worthless product? Probably not but it depends on the competition not on the patent which will only protect against outright knockoffs should one wish to press infringement claims in court. This certainly is a device anyone could get into production (which it is) and it is certainly in a field where discretionary spending is high enough to likely make it possible to easily sell at a profit---if there isn't stiff competition. See, for example patent 6,240,939, a two triangular panel ice fisherman's windbreak, for something that anybody could do to compete.

Also you might want to notice the last two claims in this patent. There are obvious errors in them--such errors do not weaken the patent in any real way because they are simple clerical goofs regardless of who made them. Don't pass up the opportunity to look at the colorful website where these were being sold (and improved!) well before the patent issued (click the animated light bulb).
